Providing Clear Answers to all Your Valet Trash Questions

What is the Black Tie Valet Trash program?

The Black Tie Valet Trash program is a series of frequent collections of common household waste directly from your doorstep, providing residents a clean and harmonious environment. This program is designed to enhance community cleanliness and reduce the burdens of trash disposal for residents. Simply place your trash outside your door during the designated time, and our valet technicians collect it directly from your doorstep.

Why is it required to bring the service can inside after trash is collected?

Bringing the Black Tie bin inside after collection helps maintain the appearance and cleanliness of your community and prevents any obstructions in walkways. Additionally, this helps protect your Black Tie bin from damage and ensure that it remains in good condition and ready for your next scheduled collection. This simple step contributes to a more pleasant living environment for everyone in the community.

Why is there a limited window to place trash out for collection?

Reducing the amount of time trash is permitted outside helps to maintain common areas and reduce foul odors. Trash left outside for extended periods can attract animals and pests or become a safety hazard.

Why is there a 2-bag limit per unit per night?

The 2-bag limit ensures an efficient and timely collection service. Residents with more than 2 bags, may hold the extra bag for the next scheduled collection or discard excess waste using the on-site dumpster or compactor.

What if I forget to place my trash out?

Please avoid leaving trash out overnight or outside the designated hours, as this can lead to odors, pests, and potential fines from property management. Place your items out for doorstep collection the next during the next scheduled service. Black Tie provides valet collection at many communities up to 5 to 7 days per week.

Why must all animal waste be double-bagged?

Double-bagging animal waste helps contain odors and prevent leaks, which can attract pests and create unsanitary conditions. This extra precaution ensures that your trash is securely contained, helping maintain a clean and pleasant community environment. Properly double-bagged waste also protects our valet technicians and other residents from potential health hazards.

What should I do with my service can and trash when moving out?

When moving out, please ensure that your service can is clean and left inside the unit at the time of move out. If you have more trash than the program allows, please take the additional bags to the on-site dumpster or compactor. Please do not leave any trash or personal items behind in your unit or common areas.

How to dispose of bulk items?

To dispose of bulk items such as furniture, appliances, or other large items, please use the designated on-site collection location. Contact your property management for specific instructions on bulk item disposal, including any scheduled bulk trash days or additional requirements. Remember, bulk items should not be left outside for valet collection, as they will not be picked up by our valet technicians.

For disposing of bulk items such as furniture or appliances, please use the designated on-site collection location and contact property management for specific instructions. Remember to dispose of sharp items like broken glass or razor blades in the on-site dumpster or compactor for safety.

What should I do if I forget to place my trash out?

If you forget to place your trash out within the designated time window, it will not be collected that night. We recommend holding onto your trash and placing it out for the next scheduled collection. Please avoid leaving trash out overnight or outside the designated hours, as this can lead to odors, pests, and potential fines from property management.

Common reasons your trash may not be collected:
  • Placed outside the designated time window: Trash must be outside your unit within 2 hours before the collection start time.
  • Excess bags: The program permits 2 bags per unit per collection.
  • Improperly bagged or hazardous items: Only common household trash is accepted. Bulk items, hazardous materials, or improperly bagged trash will not be collected.
  • Animal waste not double-bagged: Animal waste must be double-bagged to ensure sanitary collection.
  • No bag or improper bag: All materials collected by valet technicians must be tied in a standard 13-gallon trash bag. Retail sacks, yard bags, or contractor bags are not permitted.

If you believe your trash was missed in error, please contact [email protected].

What about recycling services?

For communities with an on-site recycling receptacle, Black Tie collects recycling materials during every valet collection. Limit 1 blue recycling bag per unit per night. Break down all cardboard boxes and place next to your Black Tie bin.
